The adidas Samba shoes tell a story - a collection of moments and memories that span across cultures and decades. Guided by multi-hyphenate Sean Wotherspoon’s vision, this collaborative version captures that rich history using various repurposed waste components and scraps of Sambas from years past. From the toe caps to the heel caps and all the way down to the laces, instead of being left behind on the factory floor, they now all come together to inform a new perspective and fresh direction for the icon. A show of adidas’ commitment to help end plastic waste, adidas and Wotherspoon join together to rethink how materials can be used and reused, and the potential that offers us. If there’s something we’ve learned over the last 70 years of the Samba, it’s that it’s never about the ending. It’s always about the beginning.
